The Ann Arbor National Black Nurses Association is Proud to Announce Our First Nursing Scholarships!
The mission of the AANBNA is to combat health disparities within the African American community and other minorities by providing ongoing education, raising awareness, and mentoring current and future minority healthcare professionals. We strive to create networking opportunities through collaborations and partnerships, fostering a strong community of healthcare professionals.
Our aim is to support personal and professional growth by offering nursing scholarships and continuous development opportunities, ensuring that minority healthcare professionals are equipped to excel and make a meaningful impact in their communities.
Aling is the recipient of the Cathy Kendrick award. $500 is awarded annually to a nursing student in an ADN or BSN program. The student must be 35 years or older and belong to one of the underrepresented groups in nursing.
Breana, through application and exemplars to exemplify the tenets of the AANBNA Nursing Scholarship.
This is a $750 award that can be used for educational or living expenses. This is our way of providing opportunities for personal professional growth.
Janet was also awarded the AANBNA Scholarship Award of $750. Her application and letters of recommendation were outstanding.
Through these scholarships we aim to foster a strong community of healthcare professionals.
