Strengthening the Community
The Ann Arbor National Black Nurses Association (AANBNA) was established in April 2022 with 15 founding members from the University of Michigan Health.
We became a chartered chapter in July 2022 at the 50th Annual NBNA conference in Chicago.
The mission of the AANBNA is to address the health disparities of the African American Community (and other minorities) through ongoing education and awareness, mentoring of current and future minority healthcare professionals, and offering networking opportunities through partnerships and collaboration.

The Benefits of Belonging to the NBNA Membership
In October 2020, JPMorgan Chase announced the $30 Billion Racial Equity Commitment to help close the racial wealth gap among minority communities. As a principal sponsor of AANBNA, JPMC expands its reach to addressing health disparities, and mentoring current and future minority healthcare professionals
